(FOUR) EDDIE GUERRERO/BIG SHOW/RVD/JOHN CENA
(2004)Yeah, Cena sucks… but the awesomeness of Eddie Guerrero is like a hall pass for him. This was a simple four man team and a damn good one. Big Show was being a bad ass around this time frame and Eddie and RVD were on their A-Games around this time. They worked “Team Angle”, which consisted of Kurt Angle, Carlito, Luther Reigns, Mark Jindrak…. Yeah, that sucked. But at least “Team Guerrero” rocked.
(THREE) SHAWN MICHAELS/AHMED JOHNSON/BRITTISH BULLDOG/SYCHO SID
(1995)I remember this Survivor Series fairly well. This team was awesome. We had the best wrestler of all time Shawn Michaels, Hall of Famer British Bulldog, surely a future Hall of Famer in Sid, and the hot for a minute Ahmed Johnson. For Johnson’s benefit this was the peak of his WWF run. It was right in the middle of the old “Superstars” era. Guys like Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Undertaker, and Sid were in their prime. For this show I recall a “Random” match where they put teams together just for the hell of it. Sure, the pairings were a bit convenient but it was still a fun concept to toy around with and steal for myself.
(TWO) HULK HOGAN/DEMOLITION/JAKE ROBERTS
(1989)I’m not a Hulk Hogan fan. I was given his action figures as a kid, but he was never my favorite and annoyed me then as much as Cena does now. Still, he’s a really good multiple-man tag team guy. Some cool moments have happened when he was on a team going back to him and Savage breaking up to the nWo forming in WCW. Add the mental mastermind in Jake Roberts and Demolition only makes it a cooler team. If I had to pick one team from the 80’s to represent the Survivor Series, it would be this one.
(ONE) THE ROCK/CHRIS JERICHO/BIG SHOW/UNDERTAKER/KANE
(2001)It’s hard to argue with people when they say this is the best team of all time. This was during the WCW vs. WWF storyline after Vince bought his competition. To fight off Shane McMahon and the “Alliance”, Vince picked the best team he could. And holy shit was it a great team. All five men will make the Hall of Fame with ease. Taker, Show, and Kane are the best big men wrestlers in modern wrestling. Chris Jericho is always on his A-Game and can always be counted on to deliver. And then there’s that Rock guy. He was pretty good. It’s crazy to think The Rock was the sole survivor of this team after last pinning Austin. Austin’s team was no slouch. He had RVD, Kurt Angle, Booker T, and Shane McMahon. If Booker and Shane were replaced, hell even just Shane replaced, then that would another team you’d have to take a long hard consideration for.
