(FOUR) THE BIG 4 PPVS
No matter what, you can’t shun the big four. I’m talking the Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and Survivor Series. Especially Wrestlemania. If you’ve been a wrestling fan for an extended period in your life then there is at least a small part of you that still has curiosity about each year’s Wrestlemania. It IS the “Super Bowl of Wrestling”, for pete’s sake. It’s a nostalgia trip that can’t be beat and is presented in such a majestic and impactful way that it’s often a great show. Not always, but more times than not. And if you had that point in your life where you followed WWE or WWF for a while during your childhood or you just moved on from it… you know the big four. The Rumble with it’s 30 entrants and major importance of WHO will face the champ at Wrestlemania. Summerslam where the Mega Powers united, where Bret and Bulldog tore down Wembly, and where Bret and Owen had the best cage match to ever hit the United Center. Survivor Series, notorious for the elimination tag matches and the Montrel Screw Job. And of course Wrestlemania… the “granddaddy of them all”. It’s the biggest and best spectacle on earth.

(THREE) CUT DEAD WEIGHT
The internet drama queen Matt Hardy and the too lame for his own good MVP are gone from WWE. Both were about the same level of wrestler and status. Both had chances to shine, but never did when the time was right. They were more of a problem than a pleasure and its TNA’s “win”.

(TWO) YOUTH MOVEMENT
The post Attitude era is winding down. I don’t even know what to call this era. “The PG Period” makes sense, but there’s gotta be a better one than that. Any who… it’s done. Michaels is gone, Triple H is injury prone, Jericho is taking a break, Undertaker is on his way out, Cena, Edge, and Orton have all done hit their peaks and are settling down a bit. They’re all main eventers still, but their best days are behind them. There is still some good years left in the tanks of some of these guys, but the WWE is really doing a great job at elevating fresh and new talent. Miz, John Morrison, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, are all Main Event caliber whenever the story or need is there. Guys like Kofi, Dolph, Evan Bourne, Alberto Del Rio, and others are all great mid card guys who could be main eventing with very little convincing to the audience. This is fun to watch for many reasons. We get to see people grow and develop and it’s providing some really fresh and fun match ups. With NXT, Nexus, and all the second generation people who keep showing up it’s pretty comforting to know wrestling will be in okay hands. Once it’s figured out who is going to be the Austin/Hogan/Cena of this bunch it should be a great era.

(ONE) IT’S NOT TNA
Have you tried watching a TNA show recently? If you have, I’m sorry. If you liked it, then I’m even more sorry. TNA is a waste of opportunity. It’s a national wrestling promotion with means and potential to do great things, but the best they could manage is to barely match a product a little too similar to WCW. And that WCW they’re getting at is the worst of WCW. I liked “Above Average” Mike Sanders in WCW, but TNA is like a promotion full of him plus old WWE cast offs, burn outs, and crooks. If you have a stick up your ass to “rebel against the big corporate wrestling show” and want to sound cool on the message boards then go with Dragon Gate USA, Ring of Honor, Evolve, or backyard.
