(FOUR) FRINGE
I wish this alternative universe thing would end. Everyone that seems to be a fan of the idea either hasn’t watched the show or watches it at their own leisure. Watching week to week with this shit was lame sauce. It’s interesting in theory, but the alternate universe they show in the first two seasons is nothing like the “pretty much the same” universe they give us. What happened to the cars, man? The cars were so cool in the alt universe in the first seasons. I’m getting over it. Oliva is trapped anymore and things can hopefully start to get back to normal. I know the storyline isn’t over, but it’s at least in a different direction. Also, WTF… Friday? Why are they screwing with my life? Thursdays belong to Bones and Fringe. Splitting us up is cruel and I’m sad to think that my Bones viewings may go down. I can’t handle two nights full of Glee commercials, so I’m having to choose Fringe on Fridays. Yuck.
(THREE) BIG LOVE
About time. This is the last season of the show. A lot of fans are bitching about that, but I think it’s perfect timing. Five seasons is perfect for an hour long on HBO. Just ask Six Feet Under and The Wire. While the show has been having some ups and downs, the story of Bill and his women is far from over. This last season should tie up loose ends and hopefully end in a great way. I’m calling it now. Bill takes over at Juniper Creek and basically becomes Roman Grant. Whatever it is, it has to be better than the last season. Yeeesh.
(TWO) PARKS AND RECREATION
I enjoy this show, but it’s not “Must See” for me. With that, I’ve probably only seen about 60% of the episodes. It just doesn’t click with me for some reason like I thought it would. I still want to give it another chance though and I’m glad NBC is allowing that to happen. The additions of Rob Lowe and the awesome Adam Scott is great enough reason to look forward to this. Rob Lowe and Aziz on screen together is a mindgasm.
(ONE) CALIFORNICATION
This is easily one of my favorite shows on television. Hank Moody is my favorite character and has been since scene one with the nun, the BJ, and the dream sequence. I love the way the dialogue is perfected, the jagged and chopped up imperfections of the editing, and the story. Oh the story. The story of a smart ass/big mouthed writer who gets laid a lot and lives like a rockstar. The last season saw Moody get arrested for shit he did the very first episode of the first season. Now we have to deal with Hank’s family hating him, the world turning their heads to him, and for once a more TMZ-ish slant on the character’s “fame”. Oddly enough, I think the situation is only going to add to his “legend” and snowball from there. I can’t wait!
