(FOUR) CM PUNK
I don’t know who is in the Royal Rumble this year. With it being upped to 40 superstars, I’m just going to assume everyone is in. Some stuff seems logical with the way the storylines are heading, but sometimes I tend to go off into armchair booker mode and form my own logic. Never the less, I think this year Punk has a good chance. He’s in a main program on the main show with the main guy. Him winning the Rumble at the (screwjob?) expense of John Cena would build his heat to insane levels.
(THREE) JOHN MORRISON
Wishful thinking? Yes, of course. I’m a huge fan of John Morrison and I love the fact that he and Sheamus are basically earning their legitimacy stripes. The mayonnaise dude got a huge push at start, but it was him getting carried by guys way better than him. This is showing off their true main event potential. Morrison is gaining a lot of love from this and with his recent great match with Miz, it’s only a matter of time for them to pull the trigger on Morrison’s super push. Then again, he’ll probably just get the MITB come Mania or June or whenever the next one is…
(TWO) UNDERTAKER
I keep hearing rumors about a Taker/Miz match at Mania. This one has been around out there for awhile. These matches typically happen no matter what. What if Miz held on to the belt and Taker came back and won the Rumble? This would set up Miz vs. Taker. Taker wins and then gets a short run on RAW before going back into hibernation until the next PPV pay day.
(ONE) RANDY ORTON
He’s in matches with Miz right now as a face, but who cares? He’s just there right now. He had a program with Sheamus and then moved on to Miz. He just seems low-key right now. This is exactly why I think he could pop in there and come out of the Rumble with some direction. What else does he really have open to him? Cena, Punk, Taker, Triple H, Sheamus, and Miz all seem to have some form of plan for Mania. What does that leave? Edge? I’m not complaining too much because I think I predicted that Orton vs. Edge would Main Event a Mania by Wrestlemania 30. It still needs some fire to it if that’s the route they go.
