(FOUR) ELIMINATION CHAMBER
There is just something too artificial about the Elimination Chamber. The structure goes over the ring in such a way that it almost feels as if the ring isn’t even there. Then there are the four boxes for the wrestlers to “randomly” enter. It looks cool and the matches have some fun spots, but these matches really don’t feel all that rewatchable. Eh.
(THREE) TRIPLE CAGE MATCH
WCW ran with this for awhile, but it never really caught on. It felt like it was their horrible answer to the Hell in the Cell. It was basically a Hel in the Cell where you had to climb through the top into a smaller cage… and then do the same into a third and final even smaller one. It looked really crazy and it was featured in “Ready to Rumble”. That’s enough to get on this list.
(TWO) WARGAMES
I miss War Games. This one is simple enough. Its two rings side by side with a pretty standard cage latched onto the sides of the ring and a roof. The rules of the match have two teams going at it, but the structure is what’s up. What’s cool is that it’s like two cage matches in one… literally. The roof makes it even cooler.
(ONE) HELL IN THE CELL
The original cage was bad ass and then they had to go and make it even badder assed. There are other variations on the cage, but to me the Hell In The Cell is the coolest. It’s big, massive, and awesome… but in reality, it’s just a big cage. Where the original cage stuck to the sides of the ring and often had an open top the Hell in the Cell goes one step farther. The cage extends to the toes of the first row and has a roof. This results in carnage, chaos, and blood loss. With a cell you can fight on top, be thrown from the top, and it’s all one big spectacle. Give me a Hell in the Cell any day of the week over the others on this list.
