"Top 4 Farrelly Brother’s Movies"

(FOUR) ME, MYSELF, & IRENE
I almost don’t want to include this purely on principal. I know it’s funny and I know it’s underrated, but I don’t love it. This is why. No matter how entertaining and crude this movie is, I still find myself a bit miffed by the artwork used for it. It has that weird cut down the middle with one half of his face being smiles and cool and the other sly and evil. Cool enough concept, but the image is uncomfortably jarring. It screws with my eyes and is hard to look at. I think for some crazy over-analytical reasoning this is why I’ve never been able to fully give this movie a chance.

(THREE) DUMB AND DUMBER
Another Jim Carrey slap stick classic. This is one of those movies that are going to be replayed on basic cable for the next fifty years. Jeff Daniels and Carrey work great together, the laughs keep coming, the characters are crude but endearing, and you don’t leave it unfulfilled. In the essence of what comedy is, this movie accomplishes the ultimate goal. It’s a long and well lived journey and at the end you leave it in a better, happier, more at ease place.

(TWO) KINGPIN
I had a lot of trouble with this. I almost had to put Kingpin at number one. It’s just a great movie. Woody Harrelson, Randy Quaid, Vanessa Angel, and Bill Murray are all on their A-Games in this movie. A movie that intertwines the world of the Amish with bowling and makes you laugh for it’s entire duration is A-List with me. Like a Caddyshack or a Blazing Saddles, Kingpin is a movie from the 90’s that future generations are going to pass on to their youth.

(ONE) THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY
While it’s just as good as Kingpin, this one is a lot more commercially successful and has become a modern classic. In 1998 people started really caring about Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller because the Farrelly’s brought the magic. The movie has so many aspects that are just so obscure and obscene but it also manages have a lot of heart and be somewhat relatable. I’ve never had the zipper situation happen and I’ve never used that variety of hair gel, but we all have our moments of extreme embarrassment. It’s a really well written movie that keeps you interested until the fulfilling end.
