BY MICHAEL GOODPASTER
(FOUR) JANE LYNCH
I’m going to be specific to the last two seasons. There have been some really good episodes, some passable ones, a few forgettable ones, and a small handful that were just bad. I don’t think the Jane Lynch episode was horrible, but in the standards of the rest of the episodes it’s up against I can find at least one or two bright spots with everyone else. I like Lynch a lot, but her personality didn’t feel like it had the right amount of chemistry. It just didn’t work. I think the fact that she’s awesome and it didn’t mesh is why I get as frustrated with this episode as much as I do.
(THREE) JESSE EISENBERG
This episode wasn’t really bad or anything, but Eisenberg was probably the most do-nothing host of recent memory. It’s like he wasn’t even there. I think the common jokes about him and Michael Cera being the same person can be put to rest. Cera would of tore that shit up.
(TWO) MEGAN FOX
Was Jesse James or the doctor who killed Michael Jackson not available? Her acclaimed looks aside, what does she offer anyone? She might not be the evil jerk she’s portrayed as online and in the media, but she’s not exactly doing anything to make anyone think otherwise. I know she doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone, but it’s hard not to have a negative feeling towards her. She’s bland, boring, and doesn’t have much range. This and the already established feelings on her made this an episode I’ll go out of my way to avoid in the future.
(ONE) JANUARY JONES
I am a fan of Mad Men and January Jone’s work. I thought she was good in the small role she has had in movies I’ve seen. I think she’s attractive and I look forward to seeing her do more in the future. She’s just not that funny. She might have a good sense of humor, but she doesn’t have the comedic timing and extroverted personality that’s needed for sketch comedy. She didn’t do well at all, but it’s just as much fault as a bad casting decision. I understand she’s worth the risk, but it just sucked.
