"4 Facts: Vin Diesel"

(FOUR) NAME CHANGER
Believe it or not, Vin Diesel wasn’t born with that name. Yes, folks. There was no Mr. and Mrs. Diesel. He was born Mark Vincent. He would end up changing his name to “Vin Diesel” when he worked as a bouncer in New York. “Vin” is a shortened version of “Vincent”. The “Diesel” part comes from a nickname he got because he was always running on non-stop energy. In all honesty if you could name yourself Vin Diesel wouldn’t you? It’s like “Max Power” or something else slightly heroic sounding. And interesting fact is that you can switch up the letters in Vin Diesel and get “Devil Sin” or my favorite “I End Lives”. Yeah… look for yourself. Crazy!

(THREE) FACEBOOKIE
Vin Diesel has almost twenty million fans/friends/likes/whatever on facebook. Yes, TWENTY MILLION. Vin was smart. He got into facebook at jump street. He saw a chance to be able to interact with fans and took it. When he was there at start he was one of the top dogs. He always jokes about how he takes some of the responsibility of the site taking off. I think he jokes, but he’s kind of serious about it. He did do a lot and still does. At one point he was only behind Michael Jackson in the popularity count. Impressive.

(TWO) NERD
Vin Diesel is a HUGE fan of Dungeons & Dragons. He has played for over twenty years. He ever wrote the foreword for the book “30 Years of Adventure: A Celebration of Dungeons & Dragons”. In XXX he had a fake tattoo of his longtime character “Melkor” on his stomach. And actually I just read recently that he’s actually in development for a movie based on his character. I’m not a fan of the game or anything, but that’s pretty bad ass.

(ONE) NOT JUST AN ACTION STAR
When you hear or see Vin Diesel the first thing that comes to mind is that he’s a jocky action star. He’s in the movies with the cars. He’s in the Riddick movies. To just say it, he looks like a brute. He’s much more than that. I’m not even talking about The Pacifier either. For an example of his chops check out the movie Boileroom. He’s not the flat mono-tone voice that many would automatically assume him to be. It’s a shame he hasn’t done anything else in this area again.
