(FOUR) GENDERIZING CRAP
I don’t get it. This was okay for a minute. People, mainly soccer moms and Dan Patrick, decided to rename anything and everything with the prefix of “Man”. A man’s hangout is a “man-cave”. When a dude trims his “personal hair” it’s “man-scaping”. There is the show on SpikeTV called “man-swers”. It goes on and on. When did being a man become a trend? This “man” prefix is about as lame as the old “metro” crap a few years ago.
(THREE) LOW BUDGET TAG-A-LONG MOVIES
I think we’ve all seen these movies by now. When a big budget blockbuster comes out some low brow independent company will attempt to ride their promotional coat-tails. The “Thor” movie came out, then there was “The Almighty Thor”… a cheap remake. There is a Green Lantern one too. There is also a huge spree of knock off cartoon movies too. I remember hearing someone complain about a fake movie trying to present itself as “Up”. Sometimes they get a little “spoofy”, but it’s all the same thing, riding coat tails.
(TWO) LEGO LOVE
I don’t get it. I like Legos as much as the next guy. They were a fun building block. I made many cool things with them. All of this happened as a child though. I don’t get the ironic retro love for Legos. I’ve seen music videos, short little videos, and even a full length movie that uses legos. It’s basically stop motion animation, but a lot easier because of the convenience and construction of the TOY. Where the hell is the Slinky love? How about Simon?
(ONE) PLASTIC SURGERY
I don’t get it. I can accept someone wanting to get their nose done or boobs done. Insecure people need their fix. It’s not hurting me so whatever. Do what you want. I just have a problem with the people who have gone WAY overboard with their plastic surgeries. Remember how beautiful Rose McGowan was when she was with Marilyn Manson or on Charmed? Her face sorta creeps me out now. Same with Joan Rivers and plenty of others. The face is a little too rubbery, a little too tight, the lips are a little too swollen, etc. etc. etc. To me, it’s the imperfections that make people who they are. Altering is one thing, but to completely change is lame.
