(FOUR) CHARITY
Since 2003 Tyler has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. She had hosted events, served as spokesman, and has done much in support of the cause. Since 2004 she has been donating money to the Women’s Cancer Research Fund. In 2007 she teamed up with her mother and grandmother to launch a pink energy drink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Really cool on her part.
(THREE) CHILDHOOD
When she was born she was told that Todd Rundgren was her father. He was a good dude and raised her well. She found out about Steven Tyler when she was nine. She would take her biological dad’s last name a few years later, but kept “Rundgren” as a middle name. So it’s Liv Rundgren Tyler. Kind awesome. She started modeling young, but still finished school.
(TWO) AN ELF
I’ve never seen The Lord of the Rings movies. I have no desire to either. One thing that would make me consider it though would be the fact that Liv Tyler is in it. Still, I don’t live under a rock. These movies were and still are HUGE. She is like a modern day “Princess Lea” to modern day nerds. These movies have made a few BILLION dollars. I’m sure she’ll be able to ride that for the rest of her career, but she’s still out there challenging herself. Sadly, to most she’s always going to be an elf.
(ONE) 90’S ICON
I remember first seeing her in the Aerosmith video for “Crazy” in 1993. In 1995 she starred in Empire Records, one of my favorite movies of all time. If you’ve not seen it, she’s really hot in it. She kept making movies and taking on roles that would become embedding in our culture. That Thing You Do!, Inventing The Abbotts, Armageddon, etc. I’m not saying she’s the first name you think of when asked about the 90’s, but you can’t deny her body of work and impact.
