(FOUR) WEIRD HEALTH ISSUES
Everyone knows about the whole “I ate too much sushi” mercury poisoning thing. The thing about it that’s weird and annoying is that people automatically assume he’s lying about it. He’s a stage actor and it would have been a huge experience for the dude. I don’t think he’d just drop off with no real reason. The weird health stuff doesn’t end there. Back when he was shooting the massively underrated PCU he had to be rushed to the hospital because he got malaria. Yes, malaria! What the hell?
(THREE) CHICAGO ROOTS
He was born in New York, but grew up in a Chicagoland suburb. His parents, actors themselves, founded an acting school. You could roll your eyes at the fact that he’s an alumnus of the “Piven Theatre Workshop” because of nepotism, but the school isn’t anything to sleep on. The Cusacks went there and so does Emelia Zuckerman. It’s got my stamp of approval!
(TWO) COOLEST FRIENDS
Over the years this dude has worked with some awesome people. He hangs out with Common for crying out loud! While it’s technically “family”, his brother in law is the awesome Adam McKay. The biggest connection is John Cusack. He grew up with the dude and went to school with him. They came up together and have done like ten movies together over the years. They even shared an apartment together. No word on bed.
(ONE) MORE THAN ARI
Jeremy Piven is the shit. I love his work on Entourage, but I think people are forgetting his awesomeness. He did a lot of awesome TV work before then. He was a regular on The Larry Sanders Show and Ellen. He had spots on Seinfeld, Duckman(remember THAT shit!?), and Will and Grace. On the movie front, he rocks it too. I’m a huge fan of Very Bad Things, PCU, Highway, Smoking Aces and even the recent “The Goods”. I might be the only one who liked the last one, but all in all I’m generally entertained by this guy. Check out Very Bad Things and PCU for sure!
