(FOUR) THE PARKING GARAGE
I think this is the most underrated episode of the entire series’ run. I find enjoyment in pretty much every episode, but I remember for the longest time this one was my favorite. It’s just a great episode. Kramer takes the gang to a shopping mall. Elaine gets one of those goldfish in a bag, George has to meet with his parents later for their anniversary, and Jerry has to pee really badly. Kramer can’t find his car in the parking lot and hilarity ensues. Elaine fears for her fish’s life, Jerry ends up getting caught peeing, and George gets into his own mess as well. It’s just one of those experiences that everyone can relate to.
(THREE) THE PUFFY SHIRT
This episode is one of the classics for sure. Jerry is slated to appear on television and Kramer’s clothing designer girlfriend is a “low talker”. By this, they mean she speaks really low and no one can hear her. During a group dinner she asks Jerry to wear one of her shirts. He doesn’t know what’s going on, but smiles and agrees to something or another. Turns out she makes puffy white pirate shirts. The best part of the entire show is Jerry’s high pitch squeal “I don’t wanna be a pirate!” I’ll quote that shit till the day I die…
(TWO) THE SOUP NAZI
Again, another classic. It’s hard to argue with quality, folks. This episode is going to be part of television history forever. The whole “No soup for you!” line is iconic and people are going to say it forever. What I don’t think many people realize is that this episode came seven seasons into the show’s run. Most shows are on the sucky side by then, but here Seinfeld is giving us what most consider its best episode. Another interesting note is that this is the only episode on the this list not written by Larry David.
(ONE) THE CONTEST
Are YOU the “master of your domain”? In this 1992 episode history was made as Jerry, George, Kramer, and Elaine made the bet of all bets. The men put in $100 and Elaine put in $150. The bet was who could go the longest without masturbating. The fall out from the bet is hilarious. How each one of them deal with their pending tension is amazing. Then one by one they start dropping for their own funny reasons. That’s pretty racy for a network sitcom now, but close to twenty years ago it was unheard of. Yeah, TWENTY years ago.
