(FOUR) KIDNEY NOW
Anything involving Alan Alda gets a vote from me. This episode has everything. Jack is finding out that Alan Alda is his dad and he needs a kidney. So he organizes a celebrity song like “We Are The World” to get his dad the kidney. The celebrities include Clair Aiken, Elvis Costello, Mary J Blige, Sheryl Crow, The Beastie Boys, Steve Earle, Adam Levine, Moby, and more. It was awesome and hilarious.
(THREE) LUDACHRISTMAS
I like this episode for many reasons, the name of it for one. How can you not want to celebrate Ludachristmas? This has Andy Richter showing up as Liz’s brother. He has brain damage or some sort of illness where he wakes up every day and thinks he’s in 1985 and 17. He’s really 40 and it’s creepy how everyone plays a long. Jack starts hanging out with the Lemon family and finds out he has more in common with them than he thought. Meanwhile, Tracy rocks it this time out. He’s stuck wearing an alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet. Kenneth holds everyone hostage and the cast and crew goes crazy at the end. Fun stuff.
(TWO) GENERALISSIMO
Alec Baldwin deserves a statue because of this. Jack’s girlfriend’s grandmother hates him because he looks like a bad guy on a Mexican soap opera. This leads to tons of cool shots of Baldwin playing an overly dramatic evil man. Hilarious stuff. Meanwhile, Jon Hamm shows up as Liz’s new crush and their chemistry is really fun. There’s a lot going on in this one, but I feel like I shouldn’t spoil it. Go specifically seek out this episode and enjoy!
(ONE) DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD
This is a more recent one, but I loved it. Jack and Avery(Elizabeth Banks) are in Toronto when she goes into labor. They then go really far to make sure they kid is born American, riding with a meth smuggler played by John Cho. Meanwhile, Liz Lemon goes crazy. She’s dating a pilot played by Matt Damon and gets on a plane to go on a trip with him. For some unknown reason they delay the flight over and over and over. Liz and the passengers get more and more crazy. Then Matt Damon and Tina Fey start going at it. He wants her to back down and she won’t. He pulls out A GUN and she instantly picks up an old man and holds him in front of her as a human shield/hostage. Crazy!
