(FOUR) HUMBLE CHICAGO ROOTS
It’s not like she was born to some rich family or anything. She seemed to have a pretty down to earth backdrop. Her dad was a water plant employee and her mom was a secretary at a catalog store after being a full time house wife until Michelle made it to high school. They lived an apartment in the South Shore area and did a normal job. She ended up doing very well for herself in high school and showed some strong education skills. She graduated in 1981 from Whitney Young High School.
(THREE) FIGHT THE POWER OF LOVE!
When she got out of law school, she got a job at a Chicago law firm. While at the firm she met her future husband. On their first date they went to see a movie… Do the Right Thing. Seriously! That’s a whole lot of awesome.
(TWO) FIRST LADY
Obviously, she’s the first African-American woman to be the first last. That’s not her only feat though. She was ALMOST the tallest US First Lady. Eleanor Roosevelt was 6ft tall. Michelle is 5’11. Damn.
(ONE) HUMANITARIAN
She is a huge humanitarian. One of her biggest things is that she wants little kids to stop being fat. On top of that she has visited homeless shelters, soup kitchens, supports military families, working women, encourages national service, promotes the arts, and promotes eating organic. Yeah, she does a lot.
