(FOUR) EVERYBODY HATES SNOW DAY
I was always a little bummed that Mr. Edwards, played by Jason Alexander, didn’t have more of a lasting role. He showed up a little before, but on this episode he shined. It was a snow day at school, but Chris didn’t know. He fights it out and gets there to find no one there but Mr. Edwards. The rest of the show is basically a montage of them having fun, bonding, and goofing around. Yeah, not quite. Regardless, the chemistry between the Chris and Mr. Edwards was fun.
(THREE) EVERYBODY HATES THE PORT AUTHORITY
I never thought anything involving Wayne Brady would be THIS high on any of my lists, but so be it. The family, including Brady playing Julius’s brother, go to the port authority/bus station to head down South to go to a funeral and meet some family. Chris is trusted to guard the money. Bad idea. He ends up getting hooked into a 3-card monty sting. Then Julius gets caught up. Then Rochelle steps in and saves the day.
(TWO) EVERYBODY HATES CUTTING SCHOOL
I enjoyed this episode because I didn’t expect the twist and it was a fresh take on a typical plotline. In this one, Chris and Greg know their teacher Ms. Morello is going to be away so they decide to ditch school. Why? To see Ghostbusters. I can’t blame them. The twist is Mr. Morello called off work for the same reason. Busted!
(ONE) EVERYBODY HATES CHAIN SNATCHING
Simple enough. Chris is minding his own business when he sees the local thug Malvo go to snatch a chain off of a woman. Chris warns her without thinking about it. Malvo is pissed and tells Chris he owes him a gold chain or suffer a beat down. Chris’s paranoia and panic is hilarious. As this is going on, Tonya is trying to win tickets to see Billy Ocean off the radio and gets Drew involved. On top of that is a storyline about how Julius is bogarting a credit card from Rochelle. Overall, this show had a lot going on and all of it was funny. ALL of it.
