(FOUR) NAPOLEON DYNAMITE
I liked the movie the million years ago I saw it. Now Comedy Central show it like four times a week now. It’s still amusing, but it’s lost its magic with me. I’m sure someone who sees it for the first time loves it, but I’m not sure how much the movie holds up. That’s the movie though. The characters, which is why the movie is still loved, are awesome. This cartoon gives us the same characters with the same actors in all new situations in a cartoon world. I’m looking forward to seeing this. It could be really good.
(THREE) SECRET STASH
I’ve been a fan of Kevin Smith for a long time. That goes back to being such a fan that I REALLY wanted to go to his New Jersey comic shop and then his LA one. As the years go on, I find myself less connected with where he’s at in his current work. Still, I love what he’s about… passionate nerdiness. At least that’s what I get from it. This show is a one hour reality show about a comic shop and the weird employees. I dunno how I feel about AMC doing it. If it were on an A&E or TruTV, it’d be one thing. I fear AMC won’t be able to handle a show like this and will dump it early. It has a lot of potential. There are way more nerds than people expect.
(TWO) HOUSE OF LIES
Don Cheadle is awesome. He needs a great starring role to really spotlight how awesome he really is. The movies he was lead in were really good, but it didn’t get him enough attention. This show will hopefully fill that void. He plays a business management consultant who gets deals done at any cost. Also on the show is Kristen Bell, Dawn Olivieri, Richard Schiff, and others. It seems like it could be really good. I like the cast a lot and Showtime hasn’t put a show out with a male lead in a million years so it HAS to be good. Like Dexter good, right? RIGHT?
(ONE) ARE YOU THERE, CHELSEA?
I am a big fan of Laura Prepon. She was “Donna” on That 70’s Show. I think it’s partially a crush of sorts, but I enjoy seeing her. Same can be said for Chelsea Handler. I’m a big fan of hers. So it’s a story about Chelsea, played by Prepon… and Handler plays her own mom… or something… weird, but interesting.
