(FOUR) JAMES ROLF HIGH SCHOOL TWENTIETH REUNION
This was my favorite episode of the great debut season of this show. It only had two seasons, but I still feel compelled to figure out my four favorite episodes. A comedy ensemble show about a catering company? I know… sounds lame. But I assure you it was HILARIOUS and sadly taken WAY too soon. Any who… this episode is sorta sad. They’re doing Ron’s class reunion. He’s working as a caterer while attending. He’s still shit on by everyone and still gets stuck in the same problem.
(THREE) JACKAL ONASSIS BACKSTAGE PARTY
Being a writer, I still find it in me to relate to the Roman character. Martin Starr, as cool as he is, makes the character REALLY unlikeable and dickish. In this one he switches places with a famous shock rock singer and gets to be famous for awhile. Meanwhile, Ron shows up with his loud and young girlfriend and gets the newly crowned boss Henry in some shit. It’s a good one and a great start for the second season.
(TWO) PARTY DOWN COMPANY PICNIC
I wanted to list this one as my favorite, but the last is just too good not too. I’m a sucker for a good baseball game storyline. It was cool to see the constantly bickering crew come together like that to take on the rival company. This is the point where shit becomes too much for Henry and he gives Ron back his team leader spot. You can’t blame him.
(ONE) CONSTANCE CARMELL WEDDING
The final episode of the second season and most likely the series was a great end cap. They’re hired to work their old co-worker Constance’s Wedding. It’s a weird atmosphere, but it works out pretty funny. Everything about this episode just falls perfectly into place. I feel like if you’ve seen it then you already have the same appreciation as I do. If not, I don’t want to ruin it. It’s a shame the series was canned, but it went out very nicely.
