Top 4 Julia Roberts Movies

(FOUR) THE MEXICAN
You have to remember, this is my personal opinion. I never had anything ill will towards Julia Roberts or anything. I’ve always found her charming and nice in her appearances and she seems to stay out of the tabloids pretty gracefully. I figured I’d be able to look at her filmography and make an easy list. Not the case. I wasn’t about to include stuff like Erin Brockovich, The Ocean’s movies, Eat Pray Love, or any of the movies that I didn’t watch or care for. So with that, I start the list with a movie that I didn’t even like all that much. Brad Pitt was fresh off the badass-ness of Fight Club and other cool movies and then this came out. I think it’s mainly the pacing of the story. It’s too tedious and doesn’t really draw you in. Regardless, Roberts did good and I dug her chemistry with Brad Pitt.

(THREE) MY BEST FRIEND’S WEDDING
I guess. This movie was decent enough for being a romantic comedy. We get Julia Roberts in the lead. Her best male friend is getting married and the typical story of her wanting to be with him and trying to get her. It’s a story that has pretty much been told a million times. The anecdotes and situations in this movie aren’t groundbreaking or anything. Still Robert’s charm and a strong supporting cast made for a fairly pleasant rom-com.

(TWO) HOOK
She has such a small part in this… literally. She plays Tinkerbell. She’s not a main character, but in the supporting role she rocks it. I think when I saw her in this as a kid I formed a HUGE crush on her. I’d move on to other celebrity crushes, but I’d still have a place in my heart for that rendition of “Tink”. I don’t get down to no cartoons, yo!

(ONE) PRETTY WOMAN
I know she’s a hooker and all, but I challenge you to point me towards a movie where Julia wasn’t at her sexiest, most charming, and just best. This 1990 flick is a rom-com classic. I’ve never been a big fan of Richard Gere. This is probably my favorite movie of his almost completely because of Julia Robert’s “fish out of water” journey from streets to upper class. I don’t plan on watching this again anytime soon, but maybe you should. Yeah… just go for it.
