(FOUR) FEaB
I’ve always been a fan of the View Askew universe. Scott Mosier has always been a big part of that world. He and Kevin Smith have had some awesome hours put in for their own “Smodcast”. On the second mic is Matt Mira. I’ve come to enjoy his banter after getting into “The Nerdist”. I also really like the concept of this podcast. Two dudes who are pretty much strangers get together and bullshit on the podcast. They get to know each other and share in things. Will they become close buddies? When will they kiss? These are all questions I hope to hear in time.
(THREE) THE DANA GOULD HOUR
I’ve grown to appreciate Dana Gould over the past year or so. I knew he was around and to be honest he sorta annoyed me. He was just too overbearing, but then again I think I just associated him with his Seinfeld character. He wrote for The Simpsons and seems to do cool things. He brings a classy kind of vulgar to the table. It’s literate and well lubricated. This podcast feels a bit like something I’d want to imagine a Johnny Carson would listen to in a smokey green room. The personalities are more old school. Eddie Pepitone is always a delight and Ed Crasnick is awesome. Ed’s “Humor Me” vid-cast/show was partially what got me into the world of podcast. I wish he’d bring it back. In the meantime, Dana Gould is holding it down for the smarter of smart asses.
(TWO) THE BONE ZONE
Brendon Walsh has become one of my favorite comedians out there. I dig the spots I’ve seen him in on TV and he’s a great podcast guest on other people’s shows. On the “DEATHSQUAD” network, there are a various amount of long-winded ramble sessions. I mean that in a good way. “ICE HOUSE” is a solid background show for sure. My favorite on the network is Walsh’s podcast “The Bone Zone”. It’s still fairly new with under 20 episodes so far. It’s just a good bullshit session. You get caught up in it and before you know it the sun is coming up and you’re wondering why you’re still listening. Still, you don’t turn it off. Then before you know it, typically over three hours later, you’re feeling like it’s the last day of summer as it dwindles down. This is a great podcast for someone in it for the long haul.
(ONE) CASHING IN WITH TJ MILLER
This is a fun podcast. I’ve been a fan of T.J. Miller for a while. He recently got into “comedy folklore” (gossip circles) for shitting all over Dane Cook for being Dane Cook. The weird response to it bothered me. He let out some steam and other folks carried it to the blogs and news. Dane Cook DOES suck. This is what sucks about people. It’s now uncool to hate Dane Cook? What the hell is that shit? It’s a valid opinion and a shared experience. If you don’t like his perspective eat a dick. Old timey, back room, cigar comedy bullshit “rules” are done. I don’t know why I went on that rant, but it felt needed. Any who… this podcast is hilarious. Cash Levy is the host of the show. The “quirk” here is that the only guest he can get is T.J. Miller. So every episode they rant and ramble about various topics. The chemistry and humor is awesome. It has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts.
