(FOUR) EARLY WORK
Jonny Lee Miller was working in TV for a while, but in the mid 90’s he had a short spree of really popular “cult classic” status movies. In 95 he was in Hackers and then in 96 he was in Trainspotting. Most modern movie nerds would call those “must see”. I would.
(THREE) SCI-FI(GHTER)
Johnny Lee Miller has been in a lot of weird science fiction movies. They’re not huge successes, but I think it’s safe to say that a lot of folks have seen him in stuff like Dracula 2000, Mindhunters, Aeon Flux, and films like that. At the same time, he has a bit of balance.
(TWO) DRAMATIC
Dude was in a Woody Allen movie. Granted, it was “Melinda and Melinda”, it was still a Woody Allen movie. For every Dracula 2000 there is a Melinda and Melinda, for every Mindhunters there is a Mansfield Park, The Flying Scotsman, or his criminally overlooked arch on Dexter.
(ONE) ELEMENTARY
It’s been announced that he’s going to star as Sherlock Holmes in an upcoming TV drama with Lucy Liu playing Watson. That’s such a weird, but potentially perfect idea. This is one of those shows that’ll either hit big or be gone in less than a season. I’m iffy on the premise, but I can see this doing well.
