(FOUR) BULLIED
Rock went to a “white school” coming up in Brookyln. He was screwed with and bullied to the point where his parents had to pull him out of high school. He ended up just dropping out altogether, getting his GED, and take on random fast food jobs to make ends.
(THREE) STARTING OFF
Chris Rock got into comedy at a young age. He started getting deep into it in his late teens. In 84 he got on NYC’s Catch a Rising Star. He paid his dues in the scene and did all the normal stuff a upcoming comedian does. He started getting small spot roles here and there. Eventually Eddie Murphy would catch and enjoy his standup act. This would lead to some bigger things.
(TWO) BLACK PRESIDENT
Chris is an Obama supporter, which isn’t too big of a surprise. The thing is that Chris Rock was elected as President first. In the 2003 movie “Head of State”, the plot was somewhat like “Trading Places”… but the twist was the normal black guy was pushed into a Presidential campaign. The movie was years before it’s time, but Chris Rock sorta paved the way. No one will admit that, but c’mon!
(ONE) VARIETY
Chris Rock is known as a comedian and a guy who does comedy movies, but he’s not one dimensional in the least bit. He has taken on darker-comedic roles, silly comedy, documentaries, dramas, action, animation, TV, talk shows, hosting, and just about anything. He’s spread out all over. I think it’s fair to say his occupation is “entertainer”.
