BY MICHAEL GOODPASTER
(FOUR) ROOTS
He was born in Georgia, but studied theater at the University of Evansville in Indiana. He got into comedy and improv early. He worked at Second City and iO from 95 to 2002. He took on a lot of experience and worked with a lot of big stars during this time. This is also where he’d meet Tina Fey and make certain connections that’d positively affect him for the rest of his career. I imagine he was pretty hilarious.
(THREE) MOVIE STAR
McBrayer hasn’t had a leading role just yet, but he has been part of some of the best comedies to come out in the past ten or so years. He pops up in Talladega Nights, Walk Hard, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and other places. I can imagine him in all of these movies. They were smaller parts, but he is just really entertaining and hard to forget.
(TWO) TV STAR
We know he’s on 30 Rock, but that’s not the only modern classic he’s been on. He had a few spots on “Arrested Development”, he showed up on The Colbert Report, Conan, Yo Gabba Gabba, The Electric Company, The Simpsons, Ugly Americans, Portlandia, Archer, and like a dozen more.
(ONE) CONAN LOYALIST
McBrayer was on Conan for two years. During that time he participated in over 80 sketches, mainly playing Southern characters. Any longtime fan can easily remember him from the many hilarious moments. He would return to the show in character of Kenneth Parcell on both 30 Rock and Conan’s show. Once the whole Tonight Show Fiasco happened, he showed up at quite a few stops on the tour Conan and the crew put on during their downtime from TV.
