BY MICHAEL GOODPASTER
(FOUR) THE ACADEMY AWARD WINNER
Mr. Freeman is all class. He makes movies that are timeless and classic. He has put out years of great depth-filled dramas resulting in him being nominated for his impressive performances in Street Smart, Driving Miss Daisy, The Shawshank Redemption, and Invictus. In 2005 he won for his work in Million Dollar Baby.
(THREE) COMEDY
Mr. Freeman has no problem putting out artistic cinema work, but he has been part of some iconic comedies and lighter hearted affairs as well. He played “God” in Bruce Almighty, he was a weird henchman in Nurse Betty, he narrated March of the Penguins, and he even narrated The Love Guru. This guy is seriously one of the best actors of all time, but he doesn’t take himself too serious so it’s pretty cool to see these kind of roles from him.
(TWO) BAD ASS
Mr. Freeman is a bad ass. Proving his eclectic role choices, he has been in some of the biggest and best thrillers and action movies in recent memory. He is in Outbreak, Se7en, Kiss the Girls, Chain Reaction, Dreamcatcher, Wanted, RED, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and of course The Dark Knight Rises. Those movies aren’t ALL the best movies in the world, but Mr. Freeman’s performances are always top notch.
(ONE) SOCIAL HERO
Mr. Freeman helps out with numerous charities and is a man of faith. He’s also a pretty outspoken advocate of certain thoughts and ideas. He is against a Black history month citing “Black history is American history”. He also was a supporter of the failed proposal attempting to remove the Confederate flag from the Mississippi state flag. He has spoken out against the Tea Party too. This is just the tip of the ice berg of Mr. Freeman’s public stances. It’s hard to argue with “God”…
