(FOUR) JERRY LAWLER’S CROWN
Is a crown a hat? For this lists sake I’m going to say yes. One of the most famous wrestling hats of all time has to be Jerry Lawler’s crown. The crown has been used in wrestling before and after many times, but Lawler is always “The King”. Some might even include this as their first pick, but I have a few others in mind…
(THREE) MR. FUGI’S DERBY
Mr. Fugi was always a bad ass. He looked like a James Bond villain, but was had the smoothness of 007 himself. In the 80’s he rocked the suit and hat and was a great mouthpiece and ringside assistant for tons of Hall of Fame quality people. Sadly, in the 90’s he’d drop this for a more “traditional” garb when he was with Yokozuna. He was cool then too, but that derby was the shit.
(TWO) UNDERTAKER’S MORTICIAN HAT
This is another arguable number one pick on anyone else’s list. The Undertaker is an icon and his entrance hat is one of the coolest parts of his great image. The hat is technically called a "Boss of the Plains". It’s a mortician hat! To me the hat perfectly represents Undertaker’s whole story of being from Death Valley, wearing all black, and well… being a “dead man”. Awesome hat.
(ONE) MACHO MAN’S COWBOY HAT
I think I’m just bias. Randy Savage is one of my all-time favorites. His over the top personality and outfits sums up what wrestling was in my early childhood. My earliest memories in life are of him being larger than life and pulling me into the “madness” so to speak. His outfits would make me laugh as a kid because they were silly. As I got older I learned to understand the importance of the fact that I always remembered what he wore. To be honest, the gaudiest costumes he wore the better. It was an amazing spree of hats, tassels, and gaudy glasses. If you know, you can’t argue with me. If you don’t, do some research. Oh yeeeaaaah!
