(FOUR) DOWN TIME MONTHS
The months leading to Wrestlemania are always when the WWE seems to put their best foot forward. I suppose the lead into Summerslam is a “big” period too. Then there are those months late in the year or other random times that the televised product just sucks ass. I don’t even know what TNA’s biggest show is. Is it Bound for Glory? Destination X? It’s all the same. They don’t have “down time” because I’ve never seen their “up time”. I suppose all wrestling companies have their bigger time stints and their “down time”, but it’s just not fun or fair for paying fans to get stuck with a subpar product.
(THREE) KING OF THE RING & WARGAMES AREN’T PPVS ANYMORE
The one night eight man tournament was the shit. It used to make stars and show us all who the company is planning to get behind. The whole pageantry with the new crown, the robe, and the wand is the shit. They’ll only bring it back when they have nothing else to do. This would be a much more entertaining pay per view than the random crap they throw at us. The other PPV we need back is Wargames. I guess it’s a “match” more than a “PPV”, but let’s just bring it back. It’s basically Survivor Series meets the Elimination Chamber.
(TWO) THE “IT’S GAY” ARGUMENT
There are assholes who are quick to point out “it’s just men in their underwear fake fighting and hugging. It’s gay!” First of all, there’s nothing wrong with that lifestyle. The point in the words is to emasculate the art form. Those who don’t understand it or just want to be dicks will just go with the obvious route. These people lose their argument when guys in street clothes get into their fights. Then they have to go another route. Stick to the other routes. There is plenty to mock professional wrestling for. Accusing sexual preference should be behind us by now.
(ONE) SEXISM
While we’re at it, the sexism is a bit much too. The majority of women in wrestling are beautiful model types. The occasional athletic and charismatic few will get in there and make a difference. That’s pretty much how it is for the men in wrestling too. The “look” is important. Still, women are regulated to get the constant bullshit of “they’re all just models and Barbie dolls”. The complaint should be in their training. The wrestling style for women in WWE and in most people’s eyes is really watered down and embarrassing in most cases. If a man went out there and performed as poorly as some of these diva wrestlers they’d be laughed out of the business. Isn’t THAT a form of reverse sexism? There are too many talented female performers in wrestling to stereotype.
