(FOUR) THIS IS 40
It’s a few years later and “Pete” (Paul Rudd) and “Debbie” (Leslie Mann) are still married and still have kids. We find out how their lives are at the age of 40. For those who don’t instantly know, this is a sequel to the movie “Knocked Up”. In a cool twist on sequels, this movie focuses on the lives of characters that weren’t the main focus in the first one. That’s pretty cool. Leslie Mann can be hilarious and charming and Paul Rudd is Paul Rudd. It’ll be cool. I’m sure of it. The additions of Melissa McCarthy, Robert Smigel, and Albert Brooks only help my confidence in it. I do hope Seth Rogen shows up for a special appearance, but I’m worried Katherine Heigl would show up again. She didn’t have a whole lot of good to say about “Knocked Up” and because of that I lost any respect for her or desire to ever see her in anything again. I’ll live a nice life without seeing mediocre rom-coms. On the flip side, Megan Fox is in this. I’ve never been fond of her either, but I’m still optimistic about this movie. The man who wrote “Celtic Pride” can’t fail.

(THREE) MOVIE 43
This movie has just about everyone in Hollywood in it. It was originally intended to be a “Kentucky Fried Movie” type of thing where it was a series of random shorts directed by different people starring different people. This movie has those kind of segments, but I guess there is a story that ties it all together. Something about two kids wanting to see the most banned movie in the world “Movie 43”. It should be good vulgar fun. Lots of people just going crazy and having what looks like a blast. The film will feature segments directed by Patrik Forsberg and Peter Farrelly and co-directed by Elizabeth Banks, Steven Brill, Steve Carr, Rusty Cundieff, James Duffy, Griffin Dunne, James Gunn, Bob Odenkirk and Brett Ratner. For a list of everyone in the movie seek the entire listing of imdb.com because like I said, EVERYONE is in it… even Tony Shalhoub!

(TWO) IDENTITY THIEF
Two people that are practically impossible not to like are Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy. We get them both in this upcoming comedy. Bateman plays a guy named “Sandy Bigelow Patterson”. McCarthy plays a woman who steals Bateman’s identity by using his name for bad things. It’s a simple enough premise, but it leaves plenty of room for insanity and hilarity. Along with the two stars, we get Amanda Peet, Jon Favreau, John Cho, Clark Duke, Morris chestnut, Eric Stonestreet, and a nice collection of other very viable character actors. I’m not expecting “The Hangover” or anything here. I’m going to just safely assume that this movie will be a solid comedy. I’m looking forward to it.

(ONE) ADMISSION
I’m pretty much in on this Tina Fey thing. I loved her on SNL. I love 30 Rock. I enjoyed her movie work and I’m convinced she can do no wrong. In this movie we get Tina Fey playing an admissions officer at Princeton. She has a relationship with her co-worker, Michael Sheen and has a past relationship with Paul Rudd. She realizes that one of Rudd’s students may be the child she gave up for adoption. It’s a back and forth of emotion. To top all of this off, the cast also includes Lily Tomlin. Tomlin and Fey working together is like the female equivalent of Bill Murray hanging out with Will Ferrell. I’m hoping they get some good scenes together. The movie doesn’t seem like it’s going to be a laugh a minute or anything like that, but it does seem like it’ll be a smart, charming, funny, and heart felt comedy. Sometimes that’s the best combination. In Fey we trust.
