(FOUR) REY MYSTERIO JR. VS. DEAN MALENKO
My favorite WCW Cruiser Weight feud is easily Rey Rey and “The Man of a 1000 Holds”! I remember watching these two go at it in the mid-90s and doing something to blow my mind every single time they stepping in there. These guys really paved the way for smaller guys at the time. The fast pace style of the cruisers was finally in the mainstream eye. If these two had had Tables, Ladders, and Chairs then I’m pretty sure they’d have at least one match that people would hold in the same regard as the Steamboat/Savage or Michaels/Ramon Wrestlemania matches. I’m not even a huge fan of either guy so this says a lot to their credit. A lot!
(THREE) OWEN HART VS. BRET HART
The Owen/Bret Cage Match from Summerslam 94 was one of the best cages matches I’ve had the pleasure of seeing. The rivalry between these two was heated and of course they worked great together. Part of that is the trust they had. Who better to put in a TLC match? Owen would surely have done some awesome and innovating things in the given environment and Bret Hart was always game for an exciting match.
(TWO) RANDY SAVAGE VS. RICKY STEAMBOAT
This match and feud was so long before the invention of the TLC match that to think of it this way is kind of surreal. Randy Savage and “The Dragon” in any kind of match is something to get excited about. They never got a gimmick match to blow off their story. A Savage/Steamboat cage match would have destroyed. These two were the mid card work horses for their time. An era or two after them the ladder match would become the staple match for people on that level. Seeing these two have an opportunity to go all out with a TLC match sounds ridiculous, but a boy can dream.
(ONE) SHAWN MICHAELS VS. RAZOR RAMON
Best Ladder Matches of all time? CHECK! Their Wrestlemania 10 match is often credited as the best ladder match ever. Then there are those who don’t agree and say it was the rematch later that year. Either way, these two STILL own this Ladder Match. If given MORE ladders and then some chairs and tables this would have been bat shit. They just didn’t know any better back then. They’d have done some CRAZY stuff if they had a TLC match to settle their 1 to 1 Ladder Match score. Come to think of it, that’s a war that should have been settled. Let us day dream... I’d say Razor wins with a Razor Edge from the top of the ladder through a table. You just know Michaels would be cool with it too.
