(FOUR) DANIEL BRYAN
Daniel Bryan was a Main Eventer and a world champion. He won the title on Smackdown, got stuck being in a weird storyline, lost to Sheamus in a matter of seconds at Wrestlemania, and then despite the efforts to make him look bad the crowd loved him. The whole “Yes!” and “No!” thing really made this guy. They tried to shift it to AJ, but it didn’t work. Daniel Bryan is just awesome and likeable. On top of his improving character and personality work he’s still one of the best wrestlers to step in a WWE ring in a long time. It’s time he gets another shot to run with the ball. This time it would cool it weren’t rooted in a comedy angle or something too shticky. A serious run would kick ass. If he won the Rumble he could jump right back into that.
(THREE) DOLPH ZIGGLER
He’s the best up and comer sitting in the wings. He won the Money In The Bank and did well with it. A lot of guys win it and get stuck in a losing streak. He didn’t exactly get a Goldberg or Ryback push, but he got to be featured in a lot of big matches and showcase his awesomeness. The slow development and rise of Dolph Ziggler is exactly how it should be done. He’s going to be a long time Main Eventer when he gets there that there shouldn’t be any rush to get him there. If they really want to cement the fact that Dolph Ziggler is the guy they’re putting their chips on then a Rumble win would do just that.
(TWO) THE MIZ
The Miz needs to be reestablished as a top guy. They started to hint towards it in the end of 2012, but he is a viable world title guy any time. The main event scene has been so lame and boring. It’s the same people over and over. The Miz should be there and I don’t get why he wasn’t. Was there any reason Sheamus didn’t have a World Title feud with The Miz? Was there any reason The Miz and CM Punk didn’t have a random RAW match? His stuff with Kofi was cool and he’s often putting on a good performance but if he has something to work with on the top level he can carry the ball. I want to see The Miz vs. Triple H at a Wrestlemania, but I doubt it’ll ever happen. I’ll happily take The Miz winning the Rumble though.
(ONE) CODY RHODES
This one is just a cool idea. I love the idea of Randy Orton winning the title before hand and then Cody somehow stealing the Rumble victory. The backstory of “The Legacy” between Orton and Cody would make the build-pup seem huge. Cody Rhodes is a guy who consistently performs well in any situation they plug him in and I think everyone accepts the fact that his day is coming soon. He’s a smaller guy, but you don’t hear it brought up all that often because he carries himself like a giant. He might not be “ready” yet, but the best way to find out would be against Orton.
