(FOUR) THE OUTSIDERS VS. DX
The “Battle of the Kliq”! Everyone would love to have seen this in the late 90’s. When Nash and Hall were going strong and before the nWo got oversaturated it was awesome. At the same time Shawn Michaels and Triple H were great with DX. I don’t need to give a history lesson as to why this match would be so important for the time frame. Nash and Hall would be able to take Triple H at the time, but this was Shawn Michael’s peak years. That is reason enough to guarantee the win for DX.
(THREE) CHRIS JERICHO VS. VADER
Chris Jericho can work well with anyone. Vader is not just anyone. During the early 90s Vader kicked some major ass in Japan and WCW. He wrestled some of the best and did great stuff with the likes of Sting, Cactus Jack, and specifically Ric Flair. Jericho has proven to be one of the best wrestlers of all times and never fails at delivering. For discussions sake, let’s say 2001-03ish Jericho. Vader was a big guy who could move and when he was in there with the right people could put on a classic. I have no reason not to think that Chris Jericho would be one of those “classic match” opponents for Vader.
(TWO) HARLEM HEAT VS. DUDLEY BOYS
These have to be two of the most underrated tag teams of all time. They’re not exactly shunned from people’s “Greatest Ever” lists, but I think they’re easily on the same level as a Steiner Brothers or Roadwarriors. I’d love to see the ECW version of the Dudleys go ape shit against the super cool and super bad ass Booker T and Stevie Ray from the mid-90’s. I’d like to see Joel Gertner get in some shots on Sensational Sherri and maybe even get Colonel Parker and Sign Guy involved. These two teams from these specific eras would have killed it in a match, but an actual storyline could have been one of the best modern tag team feuds for sure.
(ONE) ULTIMATE WARRIOR VS. JOHN CENA
The best technical match up of all time. The Ultimate Warrior is one of the pieces of WWE history that’s not around anymore. It seems that the WWE is content in feeding John Cena any little bit of history they can so I can’t see why this wouldn’t happen if Warrior was “active”. I imagine how weird it would be to hear Warrior cut some incoherent epic promo against a John Cena’s lousy rap stuff. Cena would try to make Warrior look silly, but it would go so far over Warrior’s head that it wouldn’t matter. The energy in a match like this would be crazy, but of course the actual match would suck. If they kept it short, told a good story, and had time to make it important I’d love to see these two personalities clash.
