(FOUR) EDGE
This was probably the best modern Foley feud. Edge and Foley had that awesome hardcore match at Wrestlemania a few years ago. A motivated Foley is awesome, and this was really the last time I cared about his storyline. He was passionate, enraged, and put on his work boots. Edge was just coming into his own. One of the things that made him Hall of Famer quality wrestler was that big feud. It seems like from there he was cemented as a legend.
(THREE) VADER
Cactus Jack and Vader was one of the first big feuds in WCW I remember. They had that bad ass Spin-the-Wheel-Make-A-Deal Match that really stuck in my head. They’d go back and forth for a while at this point. Then of course… the ear thing. Read a book, kids.
(TWO) UNDERTAKER
The “defining moment” of Foley’s career was being thrown off the Hell in the Cell and through the table. He took some of the most vicious and memorable bumps in that match and earned his way into the forefront of every wrestling fan’s mind. I’m also partial to the Boiler Room Brawl match. That was one of my favorite matches as a kid and kind of paved the way for the scope a backstage brawl could be produced and presented. This could be number one on other’s list and I’d have no reason to argue, but I give the edge to the next one.
(ONE) THE ROCK
This one stands out to me for a big reason. The movie “Beyond The Mat” really showed off what was going on backstage during this whole situation. The repeated chair shots to Foley’s head was sick in a barbaric way. This wasn’t the only big match they had, but the first moment that comes to mind. I could ramble on about other moments like the Survivor Series screw job or the amazing “Half Time Heat” match. They’d both be big parts of each of their evolution towards icon status. Without Rock, Foley wouldn’t have had the run he had and without Foley, Rock wouldn’t have had the run he had. They really brought the best from each other during the most important period of their careers.
