(FOUR) TITLE CHANGES HANDS ON DQ/COUNTOUT
This always happens when a bad guy is extra bad for a while. They’ll cheat, get themselves disqualified, and get counted out. They lose the match, but they keep their title. It’s a sneaky tactic, but the heat a heel can get is awesome when done just right. The problem is when the big blow off to a feud is a match where a title can change hands on a DQ or count out. I don’t like it because it’s basically saying “we’re changing the rules of wrestling so it’s more challenging for YOU!” The title never changes hands. Shenanigans always happen. It’s a big waste of time.
(THREE) PUNJABI PRISON MATCH
How do you make a cage match uncool? Add stupid wood and a tribal atmosphere to it. This is a Great Khali specialty match. Yes… that big guy who can barely walk! The weird thing is that I’ve seen Undertaker and Batista live in one of these matches. It was horrible. The only prisoners in this match are the people forced to watch it.
(TWO) “ONE ARM TIED BEHIND THE BACK” MATCH
This is like the “title changes hands on DQ” match rule. This is always more of a spectacle than a match. It’s like one step above a dance off purely because there is still at least a pin fall involved. These matches seem to always involve a non-wrestler facing off against a wrestler. Guess which one gets the arm tied behind their back? Yeah… stupid.
(ONE) OVER THE TOP ROPE CHALLENGE
Battle royals are awesome. Royal Rumbles are even better. It seems that when a show wants to get on a few people at once or if they want to promote the rumble they’ll a “over the top rope” challenge. It’s a mini-battle royal. That’s crap. We know the rules of a battle royal. These matches are needed to hype anything up or remind us. If there aren’t at least 12 people in the battle royal then don’t bother.
