(FOUR) RAVER PANTS
I’m not a fan of “skinny jeans” or anything that but I really don’t miss “raver pants”. They were excessively baggy, had random colorful zippers, lapels, and sometimes random designs. It basically looked like people were wearing a really big oversized dress. I’m pretty sure if someone passed gas in those pants in a very precise way that a tornado would naturally form from the wind flow in those things.
(THREE) CD SINGLES
CDs! Remember those? We’d listen to these little round plastic discs for music instead of using digital devices. These things are still in use and are out there, but you don’t see many CD Singles. I know many bands will have imports and variations and the singles are “must have” for the avid collectors. That’s about all their worth. What good is all that effort to listen to the same song that’s most likely already on the radio about 3 times an hour OR you can just download it.
(TWO) THAT WEIRD ELVIS IMPERSONATION CRAZE
It seems like the 90’s had a lot of Elvis Impersonation gags. There were movies where Elvis impersonators were big parts, TV shows all had at least on impersonator appearance, and I’m pretty sure a whole generation of people knows the parody of Elvis just as much as the real dude. I don’t miss this at all. I’m all for Elvis’s work, rhinestone jumpsuits and overly jeweled scarves but let this one stay missed.
(ONE) ONE HOUR PHOTO
Back in the day we used to have to take a picture and just hope of the best. We’d take two or three if it was a special occasion, but we only had so many pictures on the little shitty film cartridges we’d have to cram into our cameras. We’d then have to take this film to a store and have them develop it. For the longest time it took a couple days. You’d get your pictures back and nothing turned out but you still had the pay $7 for the 24 photo-duds. Eventually the concept of “one hour photo” came into play. This was awesome. You’d drop off your film and then come back in about an hour and pick up your pictures. You still had the same risk of dubs and crap, but you didn’t have to wait.
