(FOUR) NOT ENOUGH BUSTER
We got an episode or two for each of the main characters and just about everyone’s story overlapped somehow and someway. Buster was part of that, but I felt like I spent a lot of time waiting to spot Buster or for Buster to show up. It just didn’t seem like there was a whole lot of him.
(THREE) REWATCHABLE STORY-TELLING
The way each episode is almost a self-contained story, but also part of big spider web of a fuller plot is GREAT. I watched it once all the way through and had a great experience. As you watch it you quickly realize there is so many little details going on that you KNOW it means something and connects. They DO back-reference things, but I’m sure there’s plenty left for us to find on our own comedy scavenger hunt.
(TWO) THE NEW “EVENT PROGRAMMING”
Unless it’s a big sporting event or the occasional season finale of whatever show people collectively like that week, no one really gives a shit about when they watch something. People can watch anything and everything at their own leisure. But this was different. People were waiting up all night for the episodes to pop up on Netflix. People had viewing parties. Anticipated built up and a good portion of the viewing public went into a weird hibernation for 2 days while everyone binged. Not since the days of programming a VCR has folks been this adamant about watching right then and there.
(ONE) NOW WE NEED EVEN MORE
Everyone wanted more for like a decade. The show gave us a few awesome seasons and was then ripped from us. We got to rewatch and love those episodes dearly, but there were always talks about a movie or more episodes. That was all good and fun, but we craved more. We got that. We got a great season of new episodes and new stories. Now we want the movie… or more episodes and a movie… or a movie and some more episodes. Whatever just give us MORE. Please.
