(FOUR) ALL KLIQ 1996ish
Imagine Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon taking their ladder match greatness and adding a few more of their “too sweet” buddies. The 1-2-3 Kid would rock in a match like this and throwing the Greenwich snob Triple H into the mix would have been that much more interesting. The wild card is Diesel. At the time he was in much better shape so it could have worked. I’m sure having a match made up completely of the Kliq would have inspired them all to go nuts and put on the best match humanly possible. They seemed to enjoy pissing everyone off. What better way than to steal the show?
(THREE) WWE 2001
Deep into the Attitude era saw some really talented guys come out. The Money In The Bank match could have been AMAZING at this time. There are some guys that are still around today but more than enough from the past that makes it interesting. Guys from the Wrestlemania 17 line up that year included Jericho, Regal, X-Pac, Raven, Eddie Guerrerro, Perry Saturn, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Shane McMahon, Edge, Christian, The Dudleys, Hardys, and more. You can’t tell me they couldn’t have had a great MITB with that roster at the time.
(TWO) MOTHER: WWE/ECW 2006/2007ish
Around 2006/2007 the WWE had ECW back and ran with it for a while. The roster at the time was kick ass, but everyone complained about it. I know they had one or two guys in the Wrestlmania 23 MITB match, but I’d have liked to see a ECW only MITB match from that time frame. It could have included RVD, CM Punk, Elijah Burke, Sabu, Sandman, John Morrison, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, and easily a few others. With that line up of a just a few of the available guys, tell me this wouldn’t have been great!
(ONE) WWF 1987
Based purely on the Wrestlemania 3 card, the idea of some of these guys in a MITB match would be crazy and almost inconceivable. I think we all have the idea in our heads that risktakers, high flyers, and the more athletic wrestlers are the best in these kinds of matches. The guys that could have been in one from this time frame could have been like Rick Martel, Brutus Beefcake, Roddy Piper, Bret Hart, the Dynamite Kid, Ricky Steamboat, Randy Savage, The Killer Bees, and a slew of others. Some of those names involved in a MITB match makes me head hurt. How amazing would it have been to see Steamboat, Savage, Piper, and some of these dudes in a match like that? My head seriously hurts.
