(FOUR) THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW: POLICE ACADEMY
This would suck because the casting would be impossible. You can’t recast Andy Griffith or Don Knotts, but the idea here is what counts. I don’t think it’s possible to HATE this show. You might not watch it, but there’s no reason to think ill of it at all. It’s a charming, funny, and witty show; especially for the times it was on. That said though, if you like it, you love it. Imagine the idea of Andy and Barney going to the Police Academy in the 1940’s. Yeah, your mind is blown.
(THREE) ANCHORMAN
How did Ron Burgundy become a news anchor? I’d love to know more about that character’s past. What was Ron like during the late 60’s? What inspired him to be a news man? There are tons of random questions you could ask. Why not stop asking and start showing? Maybe this will be covered in a new movie, but there’s some gold buried in that past for sure.
(TWO) JAMES BOND
Screw it. Re-boot James Bond. I’m interesting in checking out the franchise, but there’s just too many movies to care. Why not throw up new people a bone and just re-boot it? I’ve heard of the Bond girls, the villains, and some of the bigger moments but you never hear HOW Bond became Bond. I’m sure in the 6092 Bond movies there has to be a reference to the roots, but why not “James Bond: Origins” or something so we can have a starting point to decide if the Brit-action flicks are worth the effort.
(ONE) LARRY DAVID
Does this sound weird? Probably. The idea is awesome though. Imagine a “prequel season” of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” where it’s Larry telling stories about his childhood and early life. I’m sure there are plenty of hilarious little anecdotes to be had and some stories that’d rock. I’d love to see the whole story of kid to teen to his 20’s to doing stand-up and riiiiiight to the start of Seinfeld. The hard part is casting a “young Larry” so I say screw it and have him play all of the ages in silly costumes and playing off people in their correct age. This will never happen, but it was a fun thought.
