(FOUR) THE NBA IS COMING!
Enough of all this baseball stuff. The NFL is here and things are moving forward like a well-oiled sports machine. But my personal favorite sport, the NBA, is back! I love the NBA these days. I even watched the summer league games because I needed my fix. Now the NBA is coming back and I get a chance to get hyped up and overly enthusiastic about a sport played by grown adults being paid millions of dollars. Of course, since I’m close to Chicago I’ve been raised a Bulls fan… so I’m excited for that! I’m pretty much the most self-aware sports fan there is.
(THREE) FALL TV SEASON
A lot of shows stagger their premiere dates now, which is cool. It spreads out the entertainment and makes it easier to follow more quality shows. Still, it’s September. It’s the traditional “premiere season”. Old shows we love are back, new shows are here to test the waters, and some shows we really loved are MIA or wrapped up. It’s a great time for being a television viewer. All the premium cable channels put out amazing shows, but people are sleeping on the network programming. Regardless, we’ll be finding out as the shows come out.
(TWO) CHANGING LEAVES
This is just one of those things that I get artsy and pretentious about. I love seeing the leaves change colors during the season change. The colors that come out in some areas just look beautiful. It’s the best time of year for outdoor pictures because of all the awesome and interesting scenery. The summer is too hot and too bright, but the fall has a much more casual vibe to it. The foliage is a big reason why.
(ONE) LIGHT JACKET WEATHER This is another one of my own personal guilty pleasures about fall. I’ve always been a fan of wearing layers. I love a good light jacket. When it’s light jacket season you know you’re rarely going to sweat. If it gets too warm, you take the jacket off. If it’s a nice temperature then the jacket hits the spot. It’s a perfectly fine optional wardrobe choice. I prefer the extra pockets and having the control over my own temperature. In the winter you HAVE to wear a coat. In the summer you never wear jackets. Fall, even more than the lame spring, gives us that power. The power of a light jacket!
