4 Random Cold Gimmicks

(FOUR) TOO COOL
I guess. Grandmasta Sexxay and Scotty Too Hotty were a pretty cool tag team during the Attitude era. They were cartoony hip hop wannabes, but they were endearing, the fans liked them a lot, and they weren’t bad wrestling at all. Before the TLC era really took things in a different direction, these guys held the tag division down.

(THREE) GLACIER
Glacier came in after some really bizarre vignettes. I remember at the time not being sure if they were commercials for bottled water or Cool Water cologne. He shows up, gets fancy blue lighting, “snow” from the sky, and lots of lasers. He wasn’t a bad wrestler, maybe before his time. He was one of those guys who used more martial arts than others. He’d have one or two serious storylines, but the rest was like action movie parodies over and over again.

(TWO) TOO COLD SCORPIO
Too Cold Scorpio was one of the most exciting wrestlers in WCW for a while. High flying wrestling was just starting to hit the scene and he was one of the trailblazers in America. Watching him was a pleasure. Even when he was in ECW he was cool and then the WWF missed the boat BIG TIME with Flash Funk. I honestly think Flash Funk could have been a big star if he had more time to go with the character. Everything people loved about The Godfather and Brodus Clay was kind of started by Flash Funk. Then take into account he was a great wrestler. Huge missed opportunity.

(ONE) “STONE COLD” STEVE AUSTIN
Is there ANY doubt about this one? “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is one of the greatest of all time. Some would say Hulk Hogan and some would even say The Rock, but the best “front man” of wrestling was Austin. Hogan had the benefit of fresh grounds and minimal completion. He had Savage and others who rocked the world at the time, but Austin had Hart, Michaels, Taker, Rock, Triple H, Foley, and a slew of others who were all bigger than the guys Hogan was around. So say each of the two eras was a pie. Hogan had like 90% of the WWF pie and Austin had, let’s say 85% of the pie when he was on top. The difference is that the WWF pie’s left over 10% wasn’t that great. Austin’s left over 15% were a bunch of icons and Hall of Famers. So basically, Austin was the best of the best. So if he’s THAT big of an impact in general, it’s a safe bet he’s the best “cold gimmick”. I mean, c’mon!
