(FOUR) EARLY SNOW
I like a light powdering of snow. I don’t need a snow storm or everything covered with feet of icey hell. A light brushing of white on the lawn and the trees being sprinkled with white is fine by me. The leaves have just changed and are falling. The cool visual of a colorful landscape of fall foliage while snow lightly falls is a great visual and something amazing to be in the middle of.
(THREE) SLEDDING
If the snow does fall it means we can dust off our sleds. Sledding during the winter months are more common, but within October it’s not too cold. If there’s snow, it’s cold enough for freezing but it’s rainy, wet, and sloppy. It’s not the best sledding conditions, but it prepares you for what’s to come.
(TWO) HOT DRINKS Drinking flavored coffee, hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and just hot tea is a common thing come October. I’m not a cinnamon fan, but a lot of places start throwing out cinnamon flavored drinks and put out specials. Again, the cinnamon thing is not for me, but coffee, cider, and hot drinks for everyone.
(ONE) LEGITIMIZED SCARVES AND HATS People who wear scarves prematurely or in hot weather are just bad people. There is no excuse for a scarf in August. There just isn’t. The hats are almost passable. I wore a knit hat more in the past ten years than Where’s Waldo’s title character. It’s just now people get to wear this stuff with a legit purpose. You’re not a freak trying to overly accessorize your appearance. You’re just a normal practical person trying to keep warm. So basically, I like the fact it hides the freaks amongst the chilly. Muahahahaha
