(FOUR) KATT WILLIAMS
When was the last time SNL had a black man host that was a non athlete or former cast member host? Martin, maybe? Hell, even on the cast member front I can only think of Tracy Morgan. Katt Williams can do improve, is funny as hell, and would bring in a whole different demographic to the show that probably hasn’t watched in years. If he’s up for it, then SNL would be stupid to miss this chance. People compare him to the greats for a reason.
(THREE) MICHAEL C. HALL
This seems the most farfetched. Of all the hit shows on Showtime, is it Weeds, Californication, Nurse Jackie, etc… SNL doesn’t bring in any of those shows stars. The one show people mostly talk about is Dexter. Michael C. Hall IS Dexter. Is it because Showtime is part of CBS Corporation? I really don’t get it. From his work on Six Feet Under to his current hit Dexter, Michael C. Hall is the best actor on television. A long with this, he’s done a lot of theatre acting. This proves he’d be comfortable and fine in a live environment.
(TWO) CHELSEA HANDLER
She’s a “hot topic” as of late coming off her MTV VMA hosting gig and is one of the most successful stand up comedians out there right now. I think the only thing that would make this not able to happy is that she has her own talk show. If she could take the week off from the talk show to do be able to do SNL for one episode this upcoming season, I see no reason for it not to happen. She was on “Girls Behaving Badly”, multiple TV show appearances, and even a few movies that nobody saw… but she can act and “do characters” if needed. It would be nice to see a legit funny female hosting that’s not a former cast member or a flavor of the week.
(ONE) AZIZ ANSARI
Why not Aziz? He hosted the MTV Movie Awards and can easily stand on his own two feet. Aziz is the hottest and funniest comedian out there right now. He’s got a regular role on NBC’s “Park and Recreation”, has been in some good movies, rocks the stand up gig, and has experience in sketch comedy. I’ll even go as far as saying that he’d do better than 75% of the reoccurring SNL cast. They should not only get him to host the show for an episode, but give him the Steve Martin/Alec Baldwin/Justin Timberlake treatment. Hell, he should host one episode as Aziz and one episode as Raaaaaaaandy. I’d pretty much cancel any plans on a Saturday night to see THAT.
