(FOUR) MEN IN BLACK
As technology advances, a lot of older movies miss out. These movies miss the chance to be on the gigantic and oh so epic IMAX screen and it’s a shame. Imagine if they could rerelease a movie like Wizard of Oz on an IMAX screen. That’s not even the potential of doing it in 3D, but just seeing it so big and gigantic to where you feel like you’re right on that yellow brick road with them. There are even more recent movies that would be spectacular in this form of display. I was never a huge fan of the two Men In Black movies, but I could totally see it being awesome on an IMAX screen. The CGI and all of that stuff was so cutting edge when it came out that I’m sure they’d take a huge advantage of the technology at their fingers now. I’d be willing to bet that if they do make the third in the future that it’ll not only be on the IMAX screens, but also in 3D. This type of movie is made for that kind of experience.

(THREE) GHOSTBUSTERS
Speaking of “if they make the third”, Ghostbusters is another franchise that’d be amazing on an IMAX screen. What they did in the late 80’s with CGI was fun, but imagine a huge 10 story “Slimer”. Imagine the Stay Puff Marshmellow Man THAT big. Yeah, it just makes sense. In a forum like this, we would definitely not want to cross the streams.

(TWO) THE MATRIX
The Wachowski masterpiece was already innovative as hell. The original Matrix paved the way for a whole new style of action movie. The slow motion, the bending, the 360 shots, and all of the bad ass style and imagery in this movie would be copied a hundred times but never achieving the same awesomeness. The quality of the two sequels is always debatable, but I think they’d both get at least another half star if the reviewer’s first impression was in front of an IMAX screen. In a perfect world, the Wachowski brothers would have had James Cameron’s budget, time, and technology.

(ONE) BACK TO THE FUTURE
Part I came out in 1985. That’s twenty five years ago. You watch the movie now and yeah, some pieces are dated when in the “present” but the time travel scenes and especially the future in Part II would be insanely cool. I can’t think of any other movie that I’d love to see on an IMAX screen than all three, yes ALL three, Back to the Future movies. And if they’d of been in 3D, Avatar would be the second most successful movie of all time. I feel that strongly about this one.
