(FOUR) POLICE ACADEMY
For 627 minutes, equaling SEVEN installments of this comedy franchise, Police Academy was awesome. The first few were the best and once they let Mahoney get away so did the awesomeness of the movie. I kind of cringe at speaking about this. The Police Academy franchise is the perfect remake vehicle for someone out there. Imagine the casting that could be pulled off with a new remake of Police Academy. I have like 20 ideas off the top of my head. This is neither here nor there though. The original and only Police Academy was fun. I remember the cartoon and the toys even. The movie had a lot going for it and upon a new inspection I’m pretty sure you’d have to agree.
(THREE) “LIL” RAPPERS
I recently decided that I miss the “lil” rappers. I’m well aware of “Lil Wayne”, but for awhile there was a LOT of “lils” out there. It’s like back in the early 90’s when every rapper you heard was named “MC” of some sort and then some variation of “Ice”. “Lil” popped off and we saw tons of people do it. Then it got a little weird when it was the kids and protégés of rappers. “Lil Romeo” and “Lil Bow Wow” come to mind, but I’m about 96% sure there was about 17 more out there. I’m just saying, a “Lil’ Kanye” would be insane!
(TWO) VCRs
DVDs, CDs, and Blu-Ray are all these little plastic discs that we put into a machine. For those whole played with Ninja Turtle toys back in the day, remember the “pizza launcher”? I’m fairly certain that is where the concept of the “disc” came from. Could be wrong, but I doubt it. I miss the big bulking VHS tape. I miss recording stuff off TV into a somewhat low quality duplication. I miss going to mom and pop video rental stores and physically browsing the selections. There was something of more substance to hold a VHS cassette in your hand than holding a DVD in manner to protect it from its surroundings. A VCR tape is a surrounding.
(ONE) WWF
Back when wrestling was good. I’m not a “back in my day” kind of person when it comes to wrestling. I know there are plenty of advancements that have been made over time, some great talent in all eras, and pretty much a good match or promo when I see one. I’m not sure what has hurt wrestling more, the internet or Linda McMahon’s campaign? WWE has become repetitive, stale, childish, and insulting to ones intelligence. Sure, it’s a “fake sport” and it takes a bit of dispending belief to follow I anyway but the way things have recently been is just pretty lame. I miss the days that I’d be able to veg-out and watch RAW and enjoy it for the two hours. Now if I’m forced to watch it’s a tedious task that I complain about the whole time. This is why I’d rather not watch at all anymore.
