There is something way drier about this movie that I had anticipated. I remember first hearing about it and being really interested. Aziz Ansari and Danny McBride? Sold. I’m not huge on Nick Swardson, but I can deal with him. I was unsure about Jesse Eisenberg though. With him being the lead that’s an issue. The movie revolves around a pizza guy being kidnapped, strapped to a bomb, and forced to rob a bank. It sounds interesting enough, but the problem is that Jesse Eisenberg isn’t funny or endearing enough for anyone to really care. He might be a really nice guy and I loved his work in “The Social Network”, but he’s too dry and vanilla for a comedy. I want this movie to be funny because I’m a sucker for R-rated comedies. I love to see Ansari and McBride do well, but have a weird feeling this movie is going to be pretty forgettable. I do hope I’m wrong, but right now my expectations aren’t very high.
