I feel bad because I recently mocked The Big Year because the opening of their trailer was the actors pandering to watch the movie. This movie doesn’t pander, but it’s a little extra something before the trailer. Is this a new trend? I’m all about this movie. I like R-rated comedies for one and I loved 1987’s “Adventures in Babysitting”. This movie is a throw-back to that underrated Elisabeth Shue gem. Here we have Jonah Hill as a slacker who gets a job as a babysitter. Hilarity ensues. He’s stuck with three little kids on a journey through the city that takes them to random crazy places, to random crazy people, and to random crazy situations. Besides Jonah Hill we get Sam Rockwell and JB Smoove playing drug dealers, Method Man, and some other familiar faces. It’s not going to win any Oscars or anything, but I’m sorta excited to see this one. 2011 has a been a weak year for comedies. This one might soften the damage.
