At first I didn’t want to give this movie any of my time. I’m one of the few 20-something U2 fans out there. I look past Bono’s shenanigans and just enjoy their music. The newer stuff is still better than most music out there, but of course I enjoyed the old stuff the most. I just figured this movie was going to be a typical Bono bash-fest. I hear that from uncultured music fans enough. Then I watched the trailer and my opinion were changed. This movie is about a local Irish band that was coming up the same time as U2. They became superstars and this local band didn’t. The movie covers all of that and it seems like it’s a fun movie. The cast seems pretty cool for a smaller movie too. I’m a big fan of Krysten Ritter. She needs to be in more things. Then the two leads are Ben Barnes and Robert Sheehan of Misfits fame. I think this movie might be out on DVD already so I’d imagine I’d end up reviewing it sooner than later.
