This looks intense. Oliver Stone is one of the better directors out there. I can think of a more than a few of his movies that I really love. He’s got a certain knack for creating a world and he takes more chances than most young gritty indie filmmakers and the critic darlings. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. You can’t deny the guy’s balls though. This newest movie looks like it’s going to be bad ass. It’ a crime thriller with a great cast. A hippie girl is kidnapped and two marijuana growers go balls out to get her back. This means getting into shit with the Mexican drug cartel, the DEA, and I’m sure a lot more. The hippie people are Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, and Blake Lively. All three have done good work in the past, but I would imagine this will be the top of their resumes once it gets out. Other notables are John Travolta, Salma Hayek, Benicio del Toro, and Uma Thurman. And this is all based on a true story? My expectations are high, hopefully not too high.
