The guys who wrote The Descendants bring us their next movie. This time writers slash actors Nat Faxon and Jim Rash are also directing so it should be interesting. I’m sure it’ll be awesome because the cast is stacked. Outside of the young actors, we get Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, Amanda Peet, Toni Collette, Maya Rudolph, Rob Corddry, and the amazingly underrated and under-seen Allison Janney. That’s a bad ass cast list. If the movie is as cerebral or deep as The Descendants then this movie can’t be kick ass. The interesting thing is that it’s slated to be a PG 13 movie and its focus is around a teenage relationship. It follows a teenager who makes a friend during his summer break. It’s obviously a “coming of age” story, but that’s never a bad thing. A good movie is a good movie. I’d be really shocked if this movie isn’t AT LEAST “good”. I’m willing to bet it reaches a higher level than that.
