This is based on a graphic novel, but it doesn’t feel like it. This is probably more of an action movie than a drama, but it’s hard to tell. It’s not the normal “bang! Pow!” type of action flick though. It’s listed as a “crime drama” so that’s what I’ll anticipate. Denzel Washington doesn’t make shitty popcorn movies anymore. Even if it’s an action movie you can bet your ass he’s going to deliver a full spectrum of emotion in his performance. In this movie he’s in the DEA and there is a whole investigation involving money, the mob, the CIA, and a lot of intense stuff. We also get Mark Wahlberg, Bill Paxton, and good amount of other familiar and talented faces. I don’t know if this movie will be the best movie of the year or anything, but it’s a movie I’ll definitely check out once it’s out of theatres.
