Due to having good friends I was treated to seeing this movie on Opening Day at the local IMAX. I had been curious and sorta excited about seeing this movie for awhile since they've been marketing it all over the net and using an awesome Nine Inch Nails track for their trailer. The movie was awesome and lived up the hype. The direction, CGI, and overall art of this movie were what stood out to me the most. Since it's based off a Frank Miller graphic novel, I sorta expected some scenes to look overly artistic just to be artsy. However, there are frames in this movie that popped so much that as I watched it I could visualize that specific frame being a framed piece of art on my office wall. While it was a very violent movie, it didn't feel too over the top in the realm of the story. There is slight tongue in cheek moments that calm the tension. It's one of those movies where all the reviews about it are 100% true. Without spoiling it, I will say the part that stands out to me is the scene with the apple. That scene was what sealed the deal as a future addition to my DVD collection.
