[MOVIES]RANDOM MOVIE REVIEW
"SEPTEMBER"
3/19/08
BY MIKEY MIGO
I've been on a huge Woody Allen kick as well as pretty much any and every movie kick lately. If I've not seen it and it seems interesting then I've been watching it. I have this sick idea that involves me watching 500 NEW movies before 2009 hits. I say "new" as in "new to me". Before 2008 I had never seen even Annie Hall. Now I'm about ten or so movies into Allen's filmography. I ended up watching on yesterday morning while drinking my daily dose of five cups of coffee. This one was "September". The situation here was that the ensemble cast was all in one location at the end of summer. If you've seen ANY Allen movies you'll know there is a "forbidden love" and in this case it's an odd love triangle with Dianne Wiest, Mia Farrow, and Sam Waterson. It's cool to see some Law and Order alum in something edgy and more theatric. The aspect that there's only about a half dozen or so characters in one location is forgotten after you become enthralled in the storyline. The love triangle aside, the side stories, and dynamics of the characters makes this one of the better Allen movies I've seen so far.
