[MOVIES]RANDOM MOVIE REVIEW
"A-TEAM"
7/20/10
BY MIKEY MIGO

This is typically the type of popcorn action movie I avoid as long as possible. I expected explosions, one-liners, and an All American cheese fest. What separated this movie and from say, a movie like "Transformers" was the casting. It's all about the casting for action flicks. Do I want to see Shia La-Barf run from an exploding robot or someone like Liam Neeson chomping down on a cigar as he flies a tank. Yes, in this movie Liam Neeson FLIES a tank. It's hard to imagine what the hell that means or to really visualize it properly so I don't feel like I'm giving anything away. The way it's done is genius and pretty fucking awesome and should be seen to believe. Liam Neeson rocking the "Hannibal" role turned what should have been overly hokey into something almost credible, definitely respectable and fun. Then you fill the rest of the cast with "The Hangover's Bradley Cooper"(I think that's his legal name now) as "Face" in his natural charming way, Sharlito Copely playing the uber crazy "Murdock" with an almost uncomfortable ease, and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson playing "Baracus" with surprisingly more depth than Mr. T ever could of imagined. The chemistry between these four guys is perfect. It feels like they've all been friends for years and this is a third or fourth sequel to a franchise. Then the supporting cast is pretty impressive as well. We get Jessica Biel as a snazzy-smart agent who trusts the A-Team a little too much, Patrick Wilson in my favorite performance of his since "Hard Candy", and a few more surprising faces. What I liked about this movie was that it was extremely fun, quick paced, and wasn't as predictable as action movies usually are. They could have spent a whole two hours slowly plotting out an origin story, but instead knocked it in less than like ten minutes. Instead, they cut the bullshit and gave us our money's worth and then some. If you're smart you'll go see this in the theatre before it's gone, but if anything you'll watch it on DVD or Netflix once it's out. This was easily one of the biggest surprises I've had watching movies in quite some time. Obviously, this is a recommendation.
